Yves Champollion
Founder and Chief Architect

Yves Champollion has over 30 years experience as a pioneer in the translation and localization industry. Since 1982, Champollion has worked in his native France as a freelance translator in the science field. His languages include French, Latin, German, English , Spanish, Portuguese and Russian as well as some Japanese and Shangana, a Zulu-related language of Southern Mozambique. In 1996, Champollion began working as a project manager and consultant for leading translation agencies, handling large-scale projects for IBM and Microsoft. He began developing software in the 1980’s and in 1999, he developed Wordfast, an MS Word-based translation memory tool. As the author of several articles on translation and the speaker at a number of high-profile industry events, Champollion is an esteemed voice and well-respected figure in the language services industry.

Kristyna L. Marrero
Director of Sales and Marketing

Kristyna Marrero has over ten years’ experience in the translation and localization industry. Prior to joining Wordfast, Kristyna was a member of the senior management team at a leading language service provider. During her time there, she oversaw several production groups and managed a staff of over 100 project managers and linguists. Additionally, Kristyna directed the group that was responsible for recruiting, testing, and training linguistic resources and was instrumental in the creation and growth of the organization’s interpretation, media services, and multicultural marketing practice groups. As Director of Sales and Marketing for Wordfast, Kristyna is tasked with reaching out to new market segments, expanding relationships with existing customers, and increasing Wordfast’s overall brand awareness. Kristyna earned her BA from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, USA.  

John Di Rico
Sales and Marketing Manager

John Di Rico began translating in 2005 and specializes in marketing translation from French to English. He works as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Wordfast and runs a small translation business where he implements Wordfast solutions. He has a MA in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). Since 2006, John has taught more than 600 translators how to use CAT tools, how to manage their time, and how to manage translation projects. John is also an adjunct professor at the Université de Strasbourg, teaching project management for its online Master in Technical Communication and Localization (TCLoc).

Rémi Andre
Software Engineer

Rémi Andre has over 20 years experience in software development for machine translation programs. With expertise in technologies such as Java, .NET, C# and a background in computational linguistics, Andre has been instrumental in the development of the Wordfast product suite, in particular Wordfast Anywhere, the industry’s largest web-based TM tool. Andre was credited with achieving notable advancements in machine translation technology solutions in his previous role as Localization Engineer for Luxor, as well as translation agencies Linguex and Bowne Global Solutions.  

JP Odenth
Server Solutions Architect

JP Odenth oversees the development of Wordfast’s server-based technology. Since graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1975, Odenth has become a widely recognized expert in his field. Odenth then went on to further advance his technology skill set by pursuing and attaining a Software Engineering degree at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris, in 1992. Odenth has worked as a consultant on numerous server-based technologies, and it is this area in which he contributes to the Wordfast tool suite. Odenth leads the development of all Wordfast server-based solutions, including the VLTM project.

Philippe Locquet
Academic Program Manager

Philippe Locquet has been translating and editing for over a decade. He specializes in helping translators and LSPs leverage their linguistic resources by creating quality alignments, maintaining their TMs and glossaries, and optimizing resources for machine translation training. Philippe offers support and training and shares knowledge on his YouTube channel Fi2Pro. He currently manages Wordfast’s academic program which offers educational institutions and translation students free licenses during their studies.
